My August Discoveries
*I tasted Dots Homestyle Pretzels, in Original and Honey Mustard seasonings. There's also a southwest seasoning option and baked cheese curls available at HEB for $5.98 per 16 ounce bag. They're available at Buc-cee, as well, for $5.99. The kids I babysit for introduced me to the honey mustard and original flavors and I can't get enough of this sensational snacks..
I am so busy eating those two Dots options z, that I haven't bothered to try Southwest Seasoning or Cheese Curls.
*While I was raving about Dots pretzels at my workplace, one of my bosses mentioned a funny old gal he follows on Instagram @grannybibbins, and he said "she has a ranch, posts funny stuff and sometimes she's eating Dots Pretzels in her reels." Funny? Ranch? Dots? That was all I needed to know! I started following Granny Bibbins, and I added @dotspretzels to my following list as well
*You need to meet these meats, the Smoked Turkey and Beef Brisket, which are the only two that I've tasted, from Texas Monthly's #3 ranked barbecue in the entire state, Truth Barbecue. A friend and I picked up a pound of each meat as a curbside order, so we could take it to her place for a movie marathon.
Our order was delivered to her car and the line to get into the restaurant was out the door at 11:30am! Truth BBQs' hours are 11am until they run out of food for the day. Follow the massive crowds to Truth BBQ at 110 S. Heights Blvd in Houston, Texas. I plan to return to try more menu options,. Check out truthbbq.com
*Looking for a side hustle? I have installed a few apps on my phone that earn points to redeem for cash back, gift cards or swag. I feel much more productive earning, rather than going down a rabbit hole on social media and wasting time. I mean, exactly how many cute dog reels do I REALLY need to watch? I earn points by snapping my shopping receipts, taking surveys, getting gasoline or dining out. Check out these apps: get upside, fetch, my points, survey junkie and branded survey. It's a slow earning, but it's more productive than trolling through TikTok and Instagram stories while you're laying in bed.
*Another thank you goes out to the family I spent 6 days dog-house-kid sitting for because they had Fischer & Wieser's Texas Triple Berry Jam made from Raspberries, Strawberries and Blueberries. I licked the knife after making a PB&J for the youngest kiddo, and thought to myself "daaaaayum!" I researched the company and they're in Fredericksburg, Texas. Jelly.com is their website. I realized I have never been to Fredericksburg, so I planned an overnight stay there in October with my favorite human and I surprised him with my plans for a romantic getaway. I will write a review about everything we do, see & taste, as well as the hotel accomodations we select.
*When "Never Have I Ever" popped up on my Netflix as #1 in TV shows and as soon as I saw it was a Mindy Kaling creation, I was all IN, so I pushed play! This 3 season series is insightful and entertaining and it's a fun little watch, narrated by Tennis Pro, John McEnroe. I got the tea, after season 3; there will be a season 4, however 4 is the final season.
